Brexit deal leaves Britain out of the continent's flagship student exchange program. The U.K. government announced a new program to replace it, but many people are skeptical about that plan. We are often asked about the impact of Brexit on student exchange within the European Union and the wider Erasmus area once we exit the transition period. Will students still be able to go on exchange as part of their British degrees? As with many aspects of our future relationship the answer is not yet clear. The Erasmus exchange scheme for students in Europe has been operating since the 1980s - and gives students the chance to study in another country for three to 12 months as part of their degree.
